The colour is a chalky and earthy near-black or very dark grey that takes its name from a form of coal used in thermal power stations for generating electricity. Softer than black, it provides an alternative neutral choice that lends an air of sophistication – a key factor in its enduring appeal. Historically, anthracite grey has mainly been used in commercial buildings, but in the last decade we have seen widespread construction of apartment blocks and newbuild developments, many of which, have opted for this particular shade. As is often the case with design trends, this popularity is now fi ltering across into residential properties, and sales of anthracite UPVC windows and doors are increasing sharply. To replicate this trend, manufacturers have launched rainwater systems in anthracite grey, which will allow you to create a cohesive fi nish throughout the external fi ttings of your future property. Moreover, gone are the days when rainwater systems were only available in black or murky shades; a host of bright colours are now available. From vivid reds, yellows, blues and greens, you will be able to create eyecatching unusual choices. With such a wide range of creative options available on the market, rainwater systems do not need to be an after thought, but instead, can play a fundamental part in setting the character of a building’s exterior. Whatever your property’s style, it is always important that the correct rainwater system is chosen – from a performance and an aesthetics point of view (to add a touch of kerb appeal!). 37 Footings & Foundations effects by selecting some of the more Spring 2018  Deep ow in anthracite grey e latest trend to ood te maret is te c olou r a nth racit e g rey – which i s c ertai nly provi ng t o be th e new black, or whit e  Deep ow 45 degree in anthracite grey
